Titled "What's for Sapa?" Shecky's writes:
"Forget swift boats and Freedom fries-th new buzz about France and Vietnam is Sapa, a new minimalist bistro in Flatiron set to officially open next week. Named for a European-influenced Vietnamese mountain town, Sapa's menu is a marriage of French and Vietnamese culinary styles: Start with the sweet pumpking salad (topped with spicy pumpkin seeds, $8), then follow it up with the spicy chicken and peanut saute, accompanied by a honey-glazed turnip and Asian pear sala ($11). The roll bar offers foie gras and duck spring rolls ($11), as well as the dubiously named "Mom's Chicken Soup Roll ($8). Diners strolling in from the nearby Flatiron galleries will take note of Sapa's stark, modern aesthetic, accented by rich walnut floors, wooden slats, and ivory-hued onyx tabletops. Good morning, Vietnam!"
